Q. What are your core values?
My personal core values are Honesty, compassion, integrity, respect, accountability, and professionalism.
Q. Why do you value them?
I hold these values because they form the foundation for how I believe everyone should be treated in my presence. For me, it’s essential to treat the mail carrier with the same respect as one would treat a physician. Every individual deserves equal dignity and consideration. As a nurse and simply as a fellow human being, I am committed to upholding these values in every interaction. Rest assured, whether you are under my care or simply encountering me in daily life, I will prioritize treating you with compassion, integrity, respect, and all the other values that guide my actions.
Q. What are the values in your society?
My societal values align closely with my personal values. I firmly believe in treating people with kindness and respect at all times, recognizing the power of simple acts of kindness to brighten someone’s day. It requires more effort to treat others poorly than it does to extend kindness and respect, and I strive to embody these principles in all my interactions.
Q. How do your core values impact your personal choices?
In the past, I would make decisions swiftly, often without much hesitation. However, with time, I’ve come to appreciate the value of my time, particularly when it comes to decision-making. Now, I find myself taking a more thoughtful approach, carefully considering the pros and cons before reaching a conclusion. Through life experiences and the passage of time, I’ve learned the importance of deliberation, avoiding impulsive actions, and thinking before speaking. I’ve come to understand that I can only control my own actions and reactions to others and nothing else.
Q. Who or what limits your choices?
There are lots of limitations when it comes to choices; it all depends on who the choice affects. If the choice causes harm to someone else or might offend or hurt someone’s feelings, there might be a second guess.
Q. Do you find limits to choices to be beneficial or harmful? Explain why.
Boundaries and limitations serve a beneficial purpose, as they remind us of the rules and constraints that exist in life. It’s essential to recognize that we cannot always attain everything we want. Establishing boundaries and acknowledging these limits is advantageous, fostering a sense of structure and discipline in our lives.
Q. Should a health care organization or the government limit people’s choices? If so, how and under what circumstances?
The healthcare organization or government should not limit others’ choices, but some rules need to be followed. These rules can possibly limit people’s choices. We are limited because of rules. There are some rules that some people agree on and other people do not. It can be a matter of opinion.
