In 2020, 8-10 year old children spent an average of 6 hours a day in front of a screen for entertainment (Center for Disease Prevention). Excessive screen time has been associated with several negative health outcomes such as poor sleep and diet. Utilize research from the textbook and additional reading (Robidoux et al., 2019) to explore how screen time can impact a child’s development.

Develop an 8-10 slide PowerPoint presentation to summarize the positive and negative consequences of screen time on a child’s development.

Provide at least three strategies and recommendations for appropriate screen time for parents and clinicians.
