Select a state, national or international current assessment practice (e.g. NAPLAN, PISA, OLNA, SCSA) to critique through a theoretical learning perspective (e.g. socio-cultural, cognitive, behavioural, constructivist) and present your findings.
You are required to provide evidence/findings on the following prompts:
a. State your chosen theoretical perspective and summarise this perspective’s view on assessment in general
b. Select a system level assessment and outline the assessment practice, its application(s) and processes within school settings
c. Conduct a detailed SWOT (strengths, weaknesses opportunities, threats) from the chosen theoretical perspective
d. Statements made must be supported by academic literature (journal articles, texts etc.)
Present above findings in a Prezi, PowerPoint or video to communicate effectively to your peers in this unit with a voice over – use a range of dot points and images (referenced correctly) in the presentation but no additional video or animation, and do not just copy and paste the script into the slides.
Statements must be supported by the unit textbook AND academic research of a minimum of three sources. This is especially applicable to your SWOT.
Please ensure you submit a transcript of your presentation as this will need to be assessed for academic integrity. Word count: 2,000 plus or minus 10%. This includes all text (headings, in-text citations, captions and direct quotes). It excludes the Reference List.
