Mission: The mission of an organization is to provide a purposeful statement of what the organization is attempting to achieve. It should be concise and explain the core objectives of the organization, such as its purpose and values, and the methods it will use to accomplish them.
Vision: The vision of an organization is a statement of its ultimate goal, a desired future. It should convey the organization‘s purpose and provide a longer–term direction, inspiring and guiding the organization‘s members and stakeholders.
Values: The values of an organization are the core beliefs that guide its decisions and actions. They should be based on the organization‘s purpose and should be consistent with its mission and vision.
The main function of the mission, vision, and values is to serve as a blueprint for the organization‘s strategic plan. They provide a framework for decision–making, helping to ensure that all decisions are in line with the organization‘s core beliefs and long–term goals. When used together, the mission, vision, and values can help an organization to define its purpose, set realistic goals, and create sustainable competitive advantages.
