MILESTONE 2 INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
For the second Milestone you will continue to build upon the work you began in the first Milestone. Make sure you continue to use the climate impact/hazard you identified in the first Milestone. The second Milestone will add detail on the role of Earth’s cycles and systems, identify human influences and assess the impact of geography & geology on your impact/hazard.
Each section will be worth 25 points and any required graphs, charts or visuals will be worth 5 points – so read carefully!
Remember cycles (water, CO2, Nitrogen, Milankovitch) & Systems (Biosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Lithosphere).
ALL Milestones must contain a “Work Cited” page. This should be the LAST page of your Milestone and be a separate stand alone page.
Section 1:
Describe in one sentence the Earth cycles you identified in your first Milestone.
Describe in one sentence any interaction that occurs between these cycles.
Describe briefly how these influence you impact/hazard.
Section 2:
Describe in one sentence the Earth systems you identified in your first Milestone.
Describe in one sentence any interaction that occurs between these systems.
Describe briefly how these influence you impact/hazard.
Section 3:
Describe briefly any human interaction that could influence your impact/hazard.
Describe briefly why humans have chosen to live in the location of your impact/hazard.
Describe briefly how human presence has increased the risk of damage/loss of life.
Add a graph that illustrates any changes in the population for your impact/hazard location.
Section 4:
List any geological/geographic features that may influence your impact/hazard.
Describe how these features impact your impact/hazard.
Add a map or illustration of these features
