I am seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to provide comprehensive college counseling, mentorship, and essay writing assistance to high school students navigating the college application process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various university admissions processes, excellent writing skills, and the ability to mentor and guide student effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. College Counseling:
– Provide personalized guidance to high school students on college selection, application strategies, and financial aid options.
– Assess students’ academic strengths, interests, and career goals to develop customized college plans.

2. Mentorship:
– Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, offering support and encouragement throughout the college application journey.
– Conduct one-on-one sessions to address students’ concerns, alleviate anxieties, and foster confidence in their abilities.
– Offer advice on extracurricular activities, internships, and volunteer opportunities to enhance students’ college applications.

3. Essay Writing:
– Collaborate with students to brainstorm essay topics, develop compelling narratives, and craft polished admissions essays.
– Provide constructive feedback and editing assistance to ensure essays are well-written, authentic, and reflective of students’ personalities.
– Help students tailor their essays to specific college prompts while highlighting their unique qualities and experiences.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, counseling, English, or a related field.
– Proven experience in college counseling, mentoring, and/or essay writing, preferably with a focus on high school students.
– Strong knowledge of college admissions processes, including familiarity with different application platforms and requirements.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
– Exceptional writing and editing abilities, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to deadlines.
