The individual assignment makes 70% of your total grade for this course. It consists of a report of around 3500 words (excluding the appendices and references). While all the discussions throughout units one to five relate to this assignment, the discussions that take place in units four and five in particular are the core subjects of the individual report.

The individual report contains two main sections, each carrying the same percentage of the total grade for this assignment:
- Section One: Performance Measurement
- Section Two: Simulation
The following shows the steps that you need to go through in order to complete your individual report:
Section One:
- Choose a service organisation that is different from the one that you worked on for the group assignment.
- Develop a Strategy Map (Success Map) for performance management of your chosen organisation, present it as a map and discuss it.
- Design an integrated performance measurement system based on your strategy map, from the scratch (as demonstrated and discussed in the class). Present it as a table, or any other appropriate illustration, and discuss it.
- Define/find KPIs (min. 12) that are associated with your designed integrated performance measurement system. Justify the ones that you think their relevance may not be obvious (if any).
- From the 12 KPIs, choose three and provide a more detailed analytical discussion on their relevance and application for the case study. This may include possible challenges and you may also benefit from literature in this discussion.
Section Two: 6. Now choose an operation in this organisation.
- Determine one or some KPIs in this operation that can be studied by simulation modelling. These KPIs may be from the ones that you defined in section one, or different ones.
- Using Simul8, develop a simulation model to analyse and understand the dynamics in this operation.
