ShaKimothy: The three adjectives that best describe my chosen character are resilience, loyalty, and duty. In The Aeneid, Aeneas exhibits resilience, loyalty, and duty. His perseverance through challenges, unwavering commitment to family and duty, and sacrifices for the greater good exemplify these qualities. Duty is the most significant quality, followed by loyalty and resilience.
In The Aeneid, Aeneas embodies the characteristics of a Roman hero, facing trials and tribulations while steadfastly pursuing his destiny to found Rome. His resilience is evident in overcoming storms, battles, and personal losses. Aeneas’s loyalty to his family, comrades, and the gods drives his actions, as he remains dedicated to fulfilling his duty to establish Rome despite the hardships he encounters.
Aeneas’s character, as portrayed by Virgil, is not only that of a heroic warrior. In addition, he guides his life by obedience to divine command, to which he sacrifices his natural inclinations. In this sense, the Latin epithet pius so frequently applied to him in the Aeneid is to be understood.

Christopher: The character I have for this weeks assignment is Aeneas. Devoted, Dedicated, and a compassionate man are all words I would use to describe Aeneas. The order I would rank them in is first Devoted, then compassion, then dedicated. While this is not necessarily a fair ranking due to all of them playing similar roles. All of these words go hand and hand in creating the character. I would say the main difference between the roman epics and Gilgamesh are the central themes and how they are emphasized. Gilgamesh was more so focused on things such as life, and death and facing the existential questions asked. I do believe that he displays qualities relating back to authentic servant leadership. He demonstrates resilience leading by example, when he loses his home city Troy he still remains determined. Aeneas also is a very selfless person and he focuses on the community more than he focuses on himself.
