Partnering with families and other stakeholders is an essential component in the success of children. Keeping accurate documentation, records of communication, and artifacts from interventions and assessments is crucial to be prepared for meetings with the educational team.
Create a student meeting file checklist to help teachers on your team compile the necessary documentation to be prepared for RTI meetings. Include the following in your checklist:
Include 8-10 essential components (assessment data, observations, student work, family information, etc.) of an RTI student file to be presented and discussed with the educational team during RTI meetings.
For each component on the checklist, provide a 1-2 sentence rationale for including the item.
In addition, write a 150-250 word email to send with the checklist to other teachers on your team. Include in the email a rationale for the value of compiling specific documentation in a timely manner.
Support your checklist and reflection with a minimum of 2-3 resources.
