During this lesson, we will:
Watch and/or listen to a Ted video, summarize what the speaker said, share thoughts on what was learned, and extend thoughts to life application and further exploration.
Directions:
Paragraph 1: Briefly summarize one of the talks on TED.com. The talks are brief, typically no more than twenty minutes, and they are on a variety of topics. Introduce the title of the talk (place the title in quotes) and the name of the speaker in the opening line of your summary.
Next, in a couple of sentences, generate interest in your topic; in other words, let your peers know why they should watch your chosen talk.
Paragraphs 2-4: Once you have summarized your chosen talk and generated interest in its subject matter write a three-paragraph response. (The following questions may serve as a guide in developing your response: What did you find interesting in the talk? What did you learn? Do you agree or disagree with any of the speaker’s points? Does it apply in any way to your own experience?)
Paragraph 5: Finally, in a couple of sentences point out something that you would like to explore further.
Requirements: 5 paragraphs
